It could be the kind of food you eat. When you feel sleepy right after a meal, it says to me that my digestion system is struggling and so it pulling in strength and resources from other areas, causing the sleepiness. Some people say they get sleepy after eating meat or pasta - maybe it's the way the food is prepared. Do you eat out for lunch (as most people do) and then eat at home for dinner?
I don't feel sleepy after lunch - and the kids I know and love generally seem sleepy before lunch and then get energized by the meal.
Peace!

It depends on a lot of different things, like how long between breakfast and lunch and any snacks between lunch and dinner.
The sleepies usually mean the blood stream is low on blood sugar, and the brain is trying to slow down to compensate.
If the sleepiness after lunch is a problem, there is some info on low blood sugar at www.hufa.org.

Most animals have a natural rhythm to their life. In most cases they slow down in the early afternoon. This is because it's the hottest time of the day--good time to not generate more heat, or to capture whatever heat you can from the sun.
Go into the woods sometime around 2:00 and you'll find it's dead--nothing is moving at that time. So we're just like the rest of the critters!

I think it has to do with the hormones and chemicals being released into our blood stream throughout the day, and at that certain time it releases one that makes you sleepy, I think it's the melatonin hormone which makes you sleepy.
