Crazy. Unless your pet is a fox. Then it would just be weird.

Well, for one, the concept of original sin was intended to put guilt on women, not on pets, as pets didn't eat any of that fruit, they don't really need it, besides maybe pet snakes... But then again, your pet has deep-routed desires to have unwed sex, urinate all over the place, and comit all of the seven deadly sins every day of the week, so it seems like it'd be rather futile... Unless of course said pet is a fox.

I have never heard of baptizing pets! I live in southern California. In Los Angeles there is a popular attraction called Olvera Street, a sort of Mexican street fair with restaurants and shops. At Easter they have the "blessing of the animals", people bring their pets. I think it's sweet.

Peace!
Catholics do not baptise pets we bless them and the owners of those pets. St. Francis of Assisi started that practise. I don't see anything wrong with it. A pet is God's creation so why not offer a prayer for the owner of the pet?

It's a cute gesture but pointless. Animals dont have souls like we do.
