Any drug that alters the mind can be addicting. Skelaxin can make you feel very relaxed and limp, that can cause someone to desire to feel that way all the time. Thus begins an addiction. I believe an addiction is more of a personal affliction. Some people are more prone to addictive behaviors. Just take only if you need, the orthopedic doc needs to reevalulate if you still need to take it on a regular basis.

No it is not addictive! But you could be addicted to it. Depends a lot on your personality. I have fibromyalsia, and have been taking 800 mg three times a day for six or seven years. I can stop taking it if I want the cramps and pain. I have several times. there is no withdrawal or need to have it. It is medicine to help me cope with a bigger problem

In general, muscle relaxants, in this catagory, if taken long term can form some psychological dependancy, as well as suddenly stopping, rather than slowing down the dosages, can cause a rebound spasicity(worsening symptoms) .Not in the more addictive categories as valium.

I would recommend you check with your Doctor, the inserts will give you possible side effects, gastrointestinal, liver complications etc. Skelaxin should relax you, but combined with Kadian (Morphine) I would not take with out the Doctors advice as he/she knows your medical history. Or ask the pharmacy. Be very careful.
