Gay? No jokes please! I'm completely serious. I found out that a guy I like might be gay. I don't think its true because he doesn't come off as being gay. I can't let him know that I know this. Is there a way to tell? Please no jokes.

Who did you "find out" from? Someone really reliable? You can't "tell" when someone is gay if they don't want you to know. and believe me I know. I lived in San Francisco for years and worked with many gays. I wouldn't have known if they didn't secretly tell me (I'm not a judgmental person). A gay man can act, dress and eat like the rest of us. An abusive man can act like he is a fine upstanding citizen, a sex offender can live in your neighborhood and you wouldn't even know. There is no way to TELL if someone is a certain way other than getting to know them without others influencing you.

Sometimes it is harder to see if a guy is gay or not than others. For instance some guys have the girlish voice that you know that they're gay or sometimes it is the way they present themselves, like the way they stand or pose. Other guys you cannot really tell if they are gay or not. But try flirting with him, if he is interested he will pick up on it and possibly flirt back, or if he doesn't flirt back then maybe he is gay or he is just not interested.
Generally you can tell if a guy is gay by their behaviour, interests, or voice.

dont mean to make it sound like a joke, but find another gay guy and have him talk to him, and if the dude is not comfortable around him then you know he isnt gay. If hes enjoying chatting and doing a little bodily flirt, then you know. best subtle way to do that. But i always thought women had gaydar (radar). Well Best of luck.

does he hang out with a lot of girls or at least have a whole bunch of friends that are girls? Does he dress REALLY matched up, expensive, and or nice? Does he have a little weird walk or stance? Does he talk funny? If you answered yes to most of these questions then he's gay.

i've had the chance to deal with alot of people in my field of work. trying to figure out if a person is g... is the most senseless thing to do. you don't want to let him know but that itself is contributing to a lie. lets be honest! a person is only who they want to be. it's unfair to guess and wonder. leave or deal with the man you suspect is of other. PRIVATE EYES \WAIT i just happened to look at some of the responses and this is outrageous. thi is why so many people are killed and\or locked up because of stereotyping. you are on your own

no people that don't want others to know hide it very well.
I was married to a man for 5 1/2 years and found out he was bi.
he knew the whole time he was but never let me in on it.
so no i guess there's not

the only way to really know is to ask him. you can't just assume someone is gay by appearance, how they talk, or act. It's like judging a book by its cover

observe the people he goes out with or his friends without him knowing. i had a friend that everyone was saying was gay. i didn't believe the rumors because i wanted to give my friend the benefit of the doubt. i was out one night when i saw him with this group of guys. ok so you're thinking so what right? it's a boys night out. so the next day i told him that i saw him with his friends. he was very defensive about it. he was giving me all these reasons why he was out with these guys, when all i said was that i saw him! fishy right? so there. maybe you could try my way :)

There is no real signs physically but the way he talks and I dont mean girlish, but like proper.....Dont stress on it too much.....just follow your heart and let it lead you in the right direction.....Good luck!!

ask a gay friend to check him out.... i think they would notice the details that you would miss. and they will be objective when they tell you if he is or isnt gay.
and for the final test
ask your gay friend to ask him out.... if the guy agrees to go out
i think you have your answer and your friend would've landed himself a date. everybody happy
