If I made an offensive joke about your Mother, would you find that funny?

I can appreciate humour when I see it, but also realize the difference between someone attempting to insult you and someone who is being funny. Not all the time though I have to admit, the medium of chat can provide some interesting peculiarities which without hearing the tone in which a person makes a comment may be taken out of it's intended context. Sometimes simply leaving out a letter or putting the wrong one in can spawn an argument. but there is too much blatant intolerance and a lack of genuine discourse. When people come in here regularly and make comments about Jesus marrying a prostitute and and other such comments about other people beliefs it is obvious they are only hoping to insight bigotry and anger and when they get such a reaction you are then chastised about a lack of forgiveness or told how cool non believers are supposed to be. In truth if I were to choose to display aggression I would obliterate such individuals. I don't say this to brag but simply because I was trained by the best. I resist this impulse as I don't really see it as being productive but rather the opposite. I really didn't come here to shred people but rather to hopefully find out a bit about others and find some common ground.

Depends on what you're asking, how you ask it. I've been flippant quite often and it usually gets me a violation notice. So obvioiusly questioners take their questions seriously.
We're not supposed to be in this section to tell jokes. There is probably a jokes section for that. Those who tells jokes here are considered trolls and banned by Y/A staff.
Let's get something clear. This is Questions and Answers and if you are asking "If God is So Powerful can he make a rock so big he can't lift it." You're not with the program, your questions deserve to be deleted and if you persist your account should be suspended. Go take that to the Jokes sections.
Now I give a RAmen to some FSM posts at times.
I sometimes answer The WSIDR's questions if it's a good one and I have a good answer.
I sometimes enjoy the posts when people do a "dig" on someone here. Especailly if they asked for it.
I really the Donut Sunday in which EVERYONE was talking donuts most of the morning.
It started with Why Not Ask Do Nut and just swelled.
So you have to define what you mean by take a joke. If you mean calling the Bible a Fiction Book or God Sky Daddy is supposed to be a joke, then maybe we thing You're Going To Hell is a joke and you take that too seriously.
I mean, you do! You profess not to believe in God, HEaven and Hell and we say you're going to hell and you take it seriously, like you believe it's real!

Ask any of my friend's I have the best sense of humor of them all and they aren't Christian but I am Christian. However I do take my religion seriously. It is something I believe in. In my opinion talking about religion is a serious matter. Just so you know IT'S NOT THE END OF THE WORLD IF PEOPLE'S OPINIONS DIFFER. Gosh stop being so uptight about how people chose to answer things.

Actually it really is a shame that some of us Christians have so little sense of humour. It reminds me of the men in black where K says to a woman, "we in the FBI do not have a sense of humour that we know of."
Sadly the same seems to be true of so many people today. What is worse is that God DOES have a sense of humour. I have seen it many times. Especially when it comes to rendering
justice. He certainly has some interesting ideas on that score.
But yes, I do have a sense of humour and it is quite a strange one. I am a douglas Adams/Terry Pratchett/Tom Holt fan with delusions of Monty Python.
Sad isn't it?
But I guess one day I'll recover and maybe I'll one day grow up to be a vicar of Dibly or a Del Boy trotter.
You know it makes snese.

You're wrong, you lack the will of free thinking, your mother and father are figments of your imagination and you do not exist either. Now have a sense of humor and not take those things personally!
Most Christians do have a sense of humor and personally I don't care what your opinions are but when you make them known through verbal attacks against Christianity or the Lord, then yes.. I do fail to see the humor in that.

I believe that is untrue. When I have went to church- a catholic church- the priest lightens up the atmosphere by telling stories involving humor within it. Some people just preceive life differently- doesn't mean one cannot handle humour. Everybody has a different sense of humour to another- It just all depends on what one thinks is funny.

On this site... its not just the Christians that have no sense of humour. Most people on here don't regardless of which religion. Even most Atheists on here don't have one.
I am a Christian and I have a great SOH!
I find Americans in general have no sense of humour

I think z_>z^2+c is 100% right in some cases but the running of the race is to achieve little warriors experiences with Jesus, after all, Jesus not only took every piece of s**t thrown at him, he bore all sin & sickness on himself at the end so i don't see why some D.O.G"s want to defend him when we are asked to love & forgive those that persecute.
