Do daily wear contact lenses mold to the shape of your eye after so long?

Yes, soft contact lenses do change shape as you wear them. Part of the reason they're disposable is because they're being worn in and worn down over time. That's why an optometrist wants you to have worn your contacts a week before checking them to allow for them to adapt to your eye (and to a lesser extent for you to adjust to them). The plastic is stretchy and does adapt to the shape of your eye. Also, protein can build up on the lenses and change their thickness or moisture levels, so it's important to keep them clean and replace them according to the manufacturer's suggestion.

Daily wear soft contact lenses (the ones that bend when you squeeze them) conform to your eye when you wear them. The fit can change over time as moisture levels change (dry eyes?). But, these lenses don't "mold" to the shape of your eye as in the permenantly take that shape, even after removal.

Rigid lenses do not conform to the eye, and instead fluid fills in any gaps and can be useful for correcting corneal astigmatism (where the shape of the cornea isn't spherical and thus contributes to your refractive error). Nor do rigid lenses mold to the eye, either. However, if fitted incorrectly or over long periods of time, it is possible for the eye to mold towards the shape of the rigid lens. This is why LASIK candidates are usually asked to not wear lenses for several weeks before surgery. It is also the principal behind ortho-k, a procedure of using special contact lenses at night to reshape your cornea so that you don't need to wear corrective lenses during the day.

No. Your optometrist has to measure the curvature of your eye in order to get contacts that will fit.
