Migraines can be tied to your period, your diet and your sleep patterns. Example: I can't drink a pepsi and have a brownie...instant migraine. If I sleep in late on Sunday....migraine. If the barometer changes and a big storm blows in....migriane. Right before my period....migraine. Try to keep track of the times of your migraines and see if you can relate them to something you are doing. Don't take Excedrin, it can cause rebound headaches. If you get an aura (spots before your eyes) prior to getting a migraine, learn to take your aspirin right away, as soon as you get the first spot. Learn some relaxion techniques. There is hope, once I found out what caused my many migraines I was able to control them and as an adult I hardly EVER get one.

i get them to, keep a journal and log each time you get a migraine, write down the time, what you were doing what you ate, and see if you notice anything that might be consisten when u get one, mine is usually caused by stree, lack of sleep or to much, and skipping meals, also bright sun light or flashing lights cause mine, if you can find out whats causing them you can try avoid getting another on there is medications out there that you can take that will help you from getting them so much but you must see a doctor for them. I used to take axert and it was great GOOD LUCK migraines are awful

I am a long sufferer of migraines and the only thing that gets rid of mine is a warm cloth on my forehead, a dark room , a huge glass of water and a mercyndol (drowsy painkiller)...there can be many causes for migraines but the most common for myself are iron deficiency and stress. They are managable, I always carry painkillers just in case. Good luck :)

Dehydration, stress, as well as "trigger" foods can bring on migraines. Certain cheeses, chocolate and caffiene especially. You can get quick fixes at the ER with Demerol/gravol injections, but, demerol is addictive, and short lasting. Advil Migraine Gel-Caps may help. I've found accupuncture has both lessened the frequency of my migraines and they are not as painful.

I used to have bad migraines and my doctor told me to drink something with caffeine in it when I felt one coming on. The caffeine restricts the blood vessels in your head which is what's causing the migraine. If they are frequent and extremely debilitating then I would see a specialist.

I get migraines a lot too, everyone has different triggers. what i would do is keep a journal of what you eat and do when you get migraines. once you find out whats causing them you can avoid it, or go and ask your doctor for help.
good luck

You can try over the counter stuff when you ask the pharmacist at the counter or you can can go and see a doctor and he'll prescribe really good stuff, which might be expensive most of the time if you don't have insurance, or you can try and get more sleep for beginning.
