Peter already suffered a loss to Wladimir. In a rematch, I see the same result. Peter would KO Maskaev and Briggs. However, just Valuev's size would befuddle Peter leading to a late round KO for Valuev. I don't see anyone in the division being capable of becoming Undisputed Champ, they're all too inconsistent. Good Question however.

Peter showed a better performance in his second fight with Toney than he did the first. The question is was it Peter who improved or Toney who is starting to show his age. Toney is a smaller fighter and Klitschko has size as do the other heavyweights in the division. Maskaev and Valuev in my opinion would not beat Peter. Briggs may have a chance in the early rounds, and as long as Vlad does not allow himself to get knocked out by Peter he will win the fight on points or by knockout himself. Peter is now rated second by Ring Magazine right behind Klitschko. I agree with the current ratings. Vlad beat Peter, Byrd, and Brock in his last three fights. Not a bad last three fights. Peter though can beat Vlad if he can knock him out. He did knock him down three times in the first fight so it can happen. Is he the next undisputed champion? Maybe, but then again politics in boxing may keep us from ever having another undisputed champion. He could certainly one day be considered the best heavyweight by esteemed publications like Ring. That is, if and only if he can beat Klitschko.

I think Peter has a good shot against Klitschko. Valuev is still up in the air. The rest of the contenders are longshots for champion. One of those three (probably Klitschko) has the best chance of unifying the titles.

I think Peter can beat Briggs and Maskaev but Im not certain about the other two. HE lost to Klitchko once but put in a good showing. If he would have been in as good of shape as he was in during his last fight with Toney I think he might have won but time will tell if he comes to each fight as disciplined as he was. My verdict is still out on the giant Valuev. Wladimir is the man to beat right now. Expect another big upset with Evander Hollyfield too. Perhaps he can get a match with Shannon Briggs. Oh well now I am rambling............

Based on how he looked against Toney, you could say yes, but keep in mind Toney was a smaller guy who really couldn't do any damage to him. All the guys you have above are big, strong guys and legit heavys, not former middle and cruiserweights coming up. I think he beats Maskaev and Valuev and he has already lost to Klitschko but i think he may beat him in a rematch because i'm not sold on Klitschko's chin. Briggs is the wild card here because he has the talent to beat Peter if he can get himself in better shape. Briggs is big, quick, and strong and if he brings his A game, he could give Peter a lot of trouble. Let's hope they fight each other so we can have 1 champion.

I believe he can beat Valuev, and possibly all of the others. Anything is possible so I would not rule it out. The fact that Valuev is a champ only proves how bad the heavyweight division is. He is a horrible boxer, but wins because of his size. This should just not happen.

Well, he can take his first step if he beats Maskaev (his rumored next fight) which i think he will do. We just don't know enough about Valuev because he really hasn't fought anyone of note, but i think his size would be a problem for anyone but i still think Peter can beat him. Briggs is talented, but i think Briggs, like James Toney, is fighting way above his best fighting weight and it is hurting him. If he can get himself in shape, he has the skills to give Peter a fight but i'll still go with Peter. That leaves us with Klitschko, a fighter that has already defeated Peter but was really shaky in doing so. Peter had him down three times in the fight but couldn't finish him and was outboxed the rest of the fight. Peter was still sort of raw in that fight and i think by fighting a highly skilled fighter like Toney may have helped him improve his own boxing skills as evident in their second fight. And the chin of Klitschko is always a question mark and it wasn't really tested in his last two wins against Byrd and Brock, but you know it will be tested once again by Peter when they fight again. Klitschko has the tools to box Peter from a safe distance but i don't think he can do it for all twelve rounds and Peter, with his improved technical skills would be better at setting up the knockout rather than just trying to wing shots and bomb Klitschko out of there. I pick Peter to KO Klitschko in the later rounds. Nice question Vette.

Peter first has to get by Maskaev who is an improving boxer over his past 7-8 fights. I think Peter can decision him. When Peter comes into these fights in condition, which should improve with each fight, I think he can decision all of these fighters named. If Briggs gets in decent shape he may be Peter's toughest bout.

He already lost to Klitschko. he was able to knock klitschko down a few times but klitschko rocked him as well and beat him. he certainly is a juggernaut, but I am not sure if he has the ability to beat Valuev, personally I don't know if he would want to fight him.

No, because of his weight. If he would stay at around 220s instead of 250 he would win every round. He lost to Klitschko because of his conditioning, and now is even heavier.
Peter is a great fighter, but he is not the one to unite the titles.
