My 4 year old is potty trained during the day but I still need either a pull up or a diaper in at night. She has good nights where she will wake up and tell me she has to go potty and then there are mornings she wakes up totally wet. There has been times I even let her go to bed with just panties on and she will sleep throu wetting herself. Should I be concerened. She will be 5 in Aug.

My 4 year old has been potty trained since he was 2 1/2 years old. He still wets at night and during naps. My 3 year old has been trained since he was 2 1/2 and he can go through the night and naps without wetting at all. It varies from kid to kid. If your daughter doesn't seem to be bothered by it then don't make a big deal about it. Some kids sleep so deeply they just can't wake up.

A lot of kids will still wet the bed, up into like 7 years old or older. I wouldn't worry about it too much. Just get her a doctor check up and make sure it is not health related. In most cases I notice it is more because kids either sleep too heavy, or because they are afraid to get up at night. If it is a fear of getting up in the dark, try getting a bright night light, or a spray bottle of water marked "monster eliminator", or put a potty chair by the bed!? Just ideas!

Limit liquids in the evenings, if you're not already doing so. I would just keep using pull-ups at night until she has consistent dry nights. No point in letting her wet the bed. Kids eventually outgrow bed-wetting.

I think you should talk to your doc because my nephew has epilepsy attacks at night where he sweats and pees without knowing. It even happens sometimes during the day if he falls asleep. He doesn't shake or anything. They had to do a test to him where he wore electrodes on his head for 72 hours and the wires were connected to a little box that recorded his brain activities and sure enough it only happens when he is sleeping
