Bones themselves have no nerves in them, but bone is surrounded by a tissue called periosteum which is highly innervated. The damaged periosteum and the accompanying injured muscle tissue causes the pain in a fracture.

RE:
Do bones have nerves?
Do they actually have nerve tissue running through them so it's painful or when you break a bone is it the muscle tissue surrounding the injury that causes the pain??

The funny bone is a nerve in the elbow, I had surgery once to put it into place a year ago, and it does hurt, plus I think it slipped again when I fell! Go to the doctor!

I guess they don't. Thanx for that info, guys. I do know that bones respond to stress that is applied to them. They actually grow and change shape. They are a living tissue!

I'm really pleased I did. I couldn't sleep because of my nerves pain... I couldn't use my keyboard... it was really a nightmare. I really feel better now.

Not actually in the bone itself, but there are nerves that run though the bone.
