is it weird for a 16 year old to be dating 19-20 year old guys.
he recentely turned 20 its not like hes been 20 for months.

hes not like a sophomore or whatever in college yet even though he's 20 because he got held back..haha. so he just graduated in may, so really its not that much of a grade difference, just age

I think it is. I'm 22 and it just seems so weird to think why would a 20 year old date a 16 year old (not that your not mature or anything) but you guys are in to different points in your lives. Your still in high school and he has already been through that. And if you guys are sexually active he could get into trouble.(depending on your state laws about that) I would just be smart about it. Hi MS, For only being 16,yes they are to old for you. You sound like a nice girl, but you should date guys your own ages,until you turn 18. I learned from when i was 16. Guys have busy hands,and can get out of control. Be safe,and date guys your age. A Friend.

your 16 and he's 20, that makes him to old for you at this time in your life. when you turn 18, and he is 22, he'll be less likely to go to jail if you two are having sex.

no of course i have a friend and she is 14 going on 15 she s going out with 20 yearlod too an everything is fine they are in a very good ralationship....so girl dont look at the age and listen to your heart dnt listen to you girlfriends they may tell you thathe is too old or whatever but they might be just jelous of you..so goodluck...

word of advice when I was 16 the 20 year old I was dating was only after one thing (SEX)

Not smart at all or acceptable in society. Stick with 18 or under till you're 18. One real good reason is, and the guy should already know it, is that if you two get absorbed in the "heat of passion", he could end up in prison.................In some cases it wouldn't even take that. I doubt you want that on your conscience.

As a dad, I would say yes!
But if you were 18 and he was 22, then it would be OK!
16 is still young.

i have a 18 year old son, he wanted to see this girl that was 14. i was worried about ---you know --charges against him if anything happened between them (sex) and then they broke up. i didn't want an enraged mother trying to press criminal charges against him. so i asked and a child protective service worker told me that they will go by a 4 year difference in the age on something like that. so he couldn't get into trouble if they had consensual sex.
if you are worried maybe you check in your state.
