I want to lose weight...right now I'm 6'3-6'4 and 115-120 pounds and I want to lose my weight so that I'm 100 pounds. But I don't know what to do...should I run, jog, swim, cycle, do weight training or order a fitness program? But even if I do these things, will I actually lose weight? I mean, the fat will be burnt but since it's replaced but muscles how would that make my weight go down?

At 100 lbs your BMI will be 12. Normal is 19 to 24. Maybe it is a steak, I mean mistake. If you look like the CA governor, exercise (resistance training) will not make you lose weight. But fat people have lots of fat and little muscle. It is much easier to gain fat than gain muscle. So the extra LITLLE BIT of muscle burns a lot of fat if you are fat. See site below under exercise.

Here is the answer to your question: muscle does in fact weigh more than fat. However, the you typically lose weight because you're getting less muscle than you are losing fat. Very slightly, but I'm very sure of it. Also, you don't just burn the fat. The mass and weight of your other body parts and organs are also getting a workout. This explains why you lose more weight than you gain when working out.

Are you really 6'3" if so you are very under weight and should not be trying to lose. 115 is a good weight if you are 5'3". Don't try to lose weight you will lose your health. Concentrate on healthy foods and get some exercise. Muscle does not replace fat when you lose weight. but increased muscle will increase your metabolism, and you will burn more calories.

You'd have to be doing aerobic exercises for 45 minutes or more at your target heart rate to burn fat.

If you're that tall you and already 120. Thats underweight, why would you want to weigh 100 pounds? You'd look like bones with skin.

You should gain some pounds, girly!
