"Toxicity from calcium is not common because the gastrointestinal tract normally limits the amount of calcium absorbed. Therefore, short-term intake of large amounts of calcium does not generally produce any ill effects aside from constipation and an increased risk of kidney stones. However, more severe toxicity can occur when excess calcium is ingested over long periods, or when calcium is combined with increased amounts of vitamin D, which increases calcium absorption. Calcium toxicity is also sometimes found after excessive intravenous administration of calcium. Toxicity is manifested by abnormal deposition of calcium in tissues and by elevated blood calcium levels (hypercalcemia). However, hypercalcemia is often due to other causes, such as abnormally high amounts of PTH. Usually, under these circumstances, bone density is lost and the resulting hypercalcemia can cause kidney stones and abdominal pain. Some cancers can also cause hypercalcemia, either by secreting abnormal proteins that act like PTH or by invading and killing bone cells causing them to release calcium. Very high levels of calcium can result in appetite loss, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, confusion, seizures, and even coma."

It's not necessarily bad for your bones, they will absorb what they need. The harm comes when the calcium is deposited in other parts of your body. At your age, you should only be on calcium and other supplements under the supervision of a doctor

It is great calcium and is great for your bones, but you must want to cut down a bit because having too much calcium in your body can give you major kidney stones! My friend had to pass some and she said her doctor said it hurts worst than child birth! eeeeeeeeowwww! gotta hurt! So just cut down a little bit. I'm not saying stop it all together. that could be bad for your body too. just drink milk in moderation. Hope this helps!

natural calcium is good for you and so are supplements as well but only to a certain point ...if you take to much calcium in a pill form you can collect calcium deposits under the skin that cause cause problems later..1000-1500 mg of calcium a day in pill form is plenty unless your Dr tells you otherwise

Yes. Too much of anything is bad. The excess calcium will be deposited in your arteries and you'll be facing a risk of heart attack just like how an obese person with clogged up arteries would. And your kidneys would be overworked.

It's not your bones I am concerned about, it's your kidneys. Too much calcium isn't good, so if you eat right and get exercise, both build bones and have calicum. You won't need suppliments. Smoking and alcohol rob your body of calcium, so don't do either.

Too much of anything isn't a good idea. However, with most vitamins and minerals, the body just discards anything it has too much of and doesn't need. You can overdose on a few vitamins/minerals, but calcium isn't one of them. I'm a milk drinker, too. Cheers!

It sounds like a lot to me. You can develop calcium deposits from taking too much. Ask a pharmacist or doctor how much is too much.

Hello =)
For your bones....NO....it's wonderful...
There is always the risk of kidney stones when one takes in too much calcium, however, so be sure to drink plenty of water along with all that milk.........
