My ex boyfriend from 10 yrs ago moves into my neighborhood, 3 blocks away from me. We got together every so often, always awkward get togethers. Then one day we both profess our undying love for one another; apparently neither one of us has given up on the other. I basically break up with my boyfriend of 9 yrs (I was going to break up with him anyways) and run to ex boyfriend for comfort. We've been having "relations" for the past 3 weeks. But due to various circumstances (we're both single), it's difficult for us to be together. I've been pushing him away and pulling him in. Hot and Cold. He's been doing the same because we both know that it's difficult for us to be together or have a future. We can't be together, but we can't be without one another at the same time. Now he's slowly pulling away from me. He's a very closed off and cold person; I think I've hurt him b/c I keep pushing away. HELP!!!

We broke up before b/c he had to move to another country with his family. We kept contact on / off for the 10 yrs since he was away. During the 10 yrs, he would always try to see me everytime he was in town visiting friends.

You can never go back - go forward - leave the past behind - It didn't work out before - what makes you thing it will work out this time?
Learn from you own histroy - you know it - stay away - stop it. Move away if you can. When he come around have your friends around to act a a buffer - it'll make it easier.

Usually if it's to hard, it's to hard for a reason, maybe you should rethink this. Is it attraction, lonliness, rebound, or safe because you already know what to expect from him? I'm not really sure how to direct you because there is so many questions I have. Like what is keeping you apart, why is it difficult? Is it your ex bf's friend? Are you his ex's best friend? Is it kids? Work? Money? Fame? I guess anything can ultimatly be work out if you two really want to be together. If it is someone else's opinion that is keeping you two apart I always say it's my life I can do what I want with it, if its a mistake I will have to live with the problem not you. So stand up talk to him tell him how you feel and address the issues and ask him what he thinks.

You guys are both playing a very stupid game and need to knock it off.....either you want to be together or you don't . There is NO reason, I repeat NO reason you can't be together if that is what you want. Counseling will help with issues you may have that might need to be worked through. The main thing is wanting to be together and respecting each other......so quit playing games and be adults!
Good luck, if after nine years you two still want each other that much you should make it work.....those are the kinds of relationships that f you don't make a good go of it now you will forever wonder what could have been! They have a great track record for working out by the way....so go for it!

If you love him, get in your sexiest nightie, put on your coat, and go to him. I don't know why you can't be together. I'm a believer that you can do anything anything anything/you can do anything if you try. You can fly an airplane/you can sail a ship to spain/you can do anything if you try. You can go to outer space or make the world a better place/you can do anything if you try.
