He has flooded the whole planet before, but is assumed to have had nothing to do with Katrina.

He allowed Job to have horrible diseases, but is assumed to be innocent in current diseases.

He destroyed Sodom&Gomorra, but is assumed to be innocent in current earthquakes.

I know, we should be human and forgive God for his past crimes. And I'm really human enough to forgive Him. Anybody has the right to screw up from time to time.

It's just, he never got punished. And as we all know, the purpose of a good punishment, is to educate the criminal of his wrong-doing. So, God never learned anything from His mistakes.

To ask it in a human perspective: would you hire a known pedophile as a male nanny for your kids, when you knew he had never been educated on the risks of him being a pedophile?

i'm guessing you're not christian?
well, i'm not either..
but i do believe in god, no matter what.
because believe it or not, god is always with us..
i won't crititize you for not believing or trusting god.
i won't yell at you either.
everyone has different beliefs.
but i guess a MAJORITY of the world do believe in god.
and theres nothing wrong with that or not believing him
i personally do believe in him, but just because the world isn't perfect, doesn't mean we have to blame GOD, because the stories say he created the world.
maybe he did, maybe he didnt?
but the point is, you can't blame anyone for the imperfections and tragedies of the world.
maybe its fate.
but there really shouldn't be blames.
its ONE world we live in and if it was COMPLETELY perfect, it wouldn't be reality.
open your eyes to actual reality.

Peace!
You answered your own question.
Here is my answer anyway: Genesis 1-11, which includes the story of Noah, is a Near Easter myth picked up by Jewish writers after the exile. The stories in those chapters are parables. They are best read on the same level it was written - spiritual. If you read it this way God will speak to you through the pages of the Bible.
As for the book of Job it is a fictional story. It is a teaching on suffering.

How arrogant you are to assume that your sense of justice is greater than the God that Created the Universe! God is a just God, He warned those people over and over, great is His mercy, how many chances He gave them before they proved beyond repair.

I don't believe that God is being said "innocent" of current issues. He still has control over the world and allows storms and quakes to bring about change on earth. Katrina was actually prophecied by some modern prophets one year before it happened. He laid down some laws, and tons of people ignore Him. They recieve the penalty for their denial in some form or another.

Well have you ever read the King James version Bible and really understood that God didnt screw up, that it was the people..first of all he flooded the earth becasue of all the evil things that the peole were doing and he had nothing to do with their wrong doings..second of all He can destroy everything He wants to any second, any minute,He made no mistakes whatsoever..TRY THINKING WHAT WAS GOING ON IN NEW ORLEANS..any guesses..Mardi Gras, the people there were thinking only of Mardi Gras they lost the whole meaning of it...

God doesn't do or allow anything "bad" to happen without a higher "good" purpose in mind. We might not know what that "good" purpose is, and even if we did, we might not think it's worthwhile enough to justify the "bad", but trusting God means that you accept both the "bad" and the "good" with the proper attitude.

I trust him because he hasn't steered me wrong..... unlike the human element. I ask a question...it gets answered... pretty simple.....
On the other hand I didn't always like the answers...maybe i should double check what i'm asking :)
Maybe somewhere along the way God changed his tactics. realized he wasn't getting through to us. You have the right to change why can't he... everyone just wants to be OVER someone else...

Admitting you need help is stronger than going alone.

If you don't learn from the past then doesn't that prove God's righteousness. It's your own decision to say things like this. God is not mocked. One day you might be looking back and saying I wish I hadn't said that. Repentance is an option now but it won't always be.

HITAN ( Democracy in Heaven ), that is what I am teaching. The CREATOR OF THE WORLD created everything and should be recognized for that, but should not be seat upon throne and given the title of GOD. He has committed enough crimes against mankind, now it is time to overthrow him and install our GOD

It is blasphemous to reduce the Heavenly Father to our finite way of thinking. You lack the knowledge of the supernatural order of things and if you had it you would not have made any of those statements. God is absolutely faithful even when and especially when we are miserably unfaithful. Our lack of understanding in his way does not give us the right to not trust the unfathomable love He Has for His creations.

Great writing!
I take all the stories as metaphors.
Kind of legend, liek Santa.
There was indeed a Bishop Nicholas, but Santa?
It's all allegory, ya know?
And it's a load of crap, so i don't even bother.
But the allegory of bearing the cross, now that has inspired me through an unfair time, so there's value in the lessons...
