He had a character called the homophobic cowboy singing about how he hoped that Jesus love for him wouldn't cross the line into sexual deviancy. I know he also has a character from time to time with Jesus dancing around with a foam cross on his back.

People love to say that Christianity is just another religion among many, but why is it the ONLY religion that is acceptable to ridicule?
Rosie O'Donnel says that evangelical Christianity is just as as bad as radical Islam, but why can Conan do these things without fear of being kidnapped and having his head sawn off?
Skeptics love to say more people have been killed in the name of Christ than any other name. Then why are people so bold to insult Christ publicly but quake in their boots at the thought of saying anything remotely negative about Muhammed for fear of suicide bombers/ terrorist attacks?

Like it or not, by their own actions they put Christianity in a class of its own, standing apart from all other religions.

I agree with comments that we should let God be the judge. I understand some of you think we have a persecution complex, but you can't deny Jesus Christ is the only religious figure in America that would ever be lampooned in this way on a comedy show. Can anyone prove me wrong?

Yes we Christians most certainly should be offended. It is high time that we started taking stands for our faith and stop being squelched by the mediocre media and liberals. It seems that the only faith that gets mocked and ridiculed is Christianity. Hold to this there will come a day when the wrong will be made right and those who mock Christ now will bow their knees in worship.

Because (most) christians don't have much respect and love for Jesus. It's obvious by way of this illustration.
How does a christian mention the name of Jesus? Most likely just 'Jesus'. More than likely, it's a curse word.
The muslims are offended everytime people made fun of Jesus.
Look how muslims mention the name of Jesus, it's always followed by a prayer "radhiyallahu anhu" that means "may favours of God upon him". Because it's in the understanding of a muslim that if one loves what God loves, one might gain God's love. And the muslims believe that Jesus (may God's favours upon him) was someone that God loves and favours.

I agree, even Jesus himself told us we will be ridiculed for His names sake. We are a class of our own. Thats true too. Most people do put us in that class, then say that were not raged on more then any other religion, but I dont see budaha dancing around on Leterman or Shiva apering on the Late Late show.
We are made fun of beacuse we can be, and when we try to defend ourselves they cry tolerance and that we hate and attack.
Christianity is not a chill religion. its tough, its a war agenst Satan and hes out for blood. mentaly, spiritualy, socialy and physicaly.
In whatever way he can he will TRY to crush christianity.
All other religions no one cares about cuz there not any problem to Satan.
Bottom line. LOVE.
they will know us by our fruits. by the fact that we show love when they openly mock our God and abuse us.
Dont say they dont Ive been beat up before had rocks thrown at me and been spit on for being a christian. I havent so much as ran after then let alone raised a fist. LOVE, no matter what.
(by no means im I a pasifist, Im pro war and as far as spiritualy im a gap fighter so I get it worse then most.) But LOVE and DO what the bible says.

Let me see if I understand. You think Christianity should quell ridicule by kidnapping and beheadings. Exactly, how does that make you any different than Islamic extremists? You make such ridiculous statements without the slightest hint of awareness at your own hypocrisy. You criticize Rosie for saying Christianity is just as dangerous as Islam then prove her point. And let me guess, you think Christians are persecuted too.

omigod, you're right, christians are SO OPPRESSED!

Christianity has turned towards politics recently. If you're going to try to push your religion into the political realm, be prepared for people to use satire and comedy to comment on such things.

I once saw a skit where they made fun of Pagans on Saturday night live and I thought it was hilarious. Everyone gets made fun of. Get over it.

I am offended by that. I will refuse to watch his show, but I will in no way launch a Jihad on his writing staff. I think a lot of people in Hollywood(or NY) have their heads up their own butts. No reasonable person would say that. It is such an ignorant biased opinion. I

Oh hell, does the Christian Persecution Delusion know no limits? Rosie is right Evangelical Christianity is just as dangerous as radical Islam. Here let me clear up your fear of Islam myth. Gay people have be speaking out against Muslim extremists long before you knew what one was. I never miss a public opportunity to link Christians persecution of gays, Jews and Native Americans et al to the wacky behavior of Islam. Please get over it.

I find it ironic and pathetic, that it is apparently okay to make fun of Jesus, but if they did the same skit and replaced Jesus with Muhammad, they would never hear the end of it. Hypocrites!

As it was predicted it would be. "Just as the world hates Me, it will hate you."

Cuz Christians are the more peaceful religion - not Islam contrary to popular sentiment. We love and forgive if we are following the teachings of Christ. Let offenses roll off.
