Make sure you use your Diafram, and don't sing from the back of your throught or through your nose.

take it from someone who has gone from drummer to guitarist to lead guitarist lead vocals in my own band.
The best way is to play the guitar in very low to NO light, get your hands and arms used to hitting the chords without looking, this will allow your mind to concentrate on pitch and range while your singing. Practice your lyrics everytime you can so that you can draw on them at any moment.
Fix pitch and key changes as well as focusing on range. If your inside alot and no-one can hear you play your guitars major notes. C-E-D-G what ever chord progression your using only hit the root not. play it slower than intended and harmonize. Get the song down only playing bass lines. then when your ready for the actualy chords it will be almost perfect. minor adjustments will need to be made but you'll get it. it's easy. good luck and maybe we'll see each other while touring some day. Although some people say it's bad to do it this way..I think it's a great way. Remember when you had to study for a test when you were in school? And maybe your mom tested you to see if you knew the stuff. Well when she asked you a question you didn't answer right? However when she told you , you memorized it. Now have this do it with your band partner. Tell him/her to test you in the singing. To see if you memorized it... whisper the song as long as you can..or tape yourself reading the lyrics and here it all over again until you think you memorized it all. Treat it like you where another artist like rise Against, Nirvana. etc. See if you can help yourself by that.

Don't end every phrase with an exhalation. It annoys people.
Don't try and be another popular singer, you are who you are. Sing like you sing. Don't try and dance if you can't. Better to be a little too stiff than super spastic. You'll be fine.

Take the first line and rehearse it until you memorixed it it and have it in the same rythum and tone that the song is calling for and just add another line after aline until, you've got the whole song.

Is there a chorus or choir in your school or church or any where you go? if so join it! if you can afford it, unlike me, take singing lessons.
