I believe in God, yet I have a strong conviction against evangelism. I don't like the idea of going out on street corners and handing out tracts and bibles. It's rude and a perverted way to spread love. I believe more in only telling your faith when asked, like Buddhists. I also believe that taking the frauds off T.V. would immensely help Christianity's image.

Spreading the Good News -. Freedom from shame, freedom from the shackles of sin, freedom from our own dark desires and hidden pain. A Heavenly Father that loves us more than we can even comprehend. That is Good News!
If we really know the Good News, the gospel, in our own lives, it would be selfish not to tell others. Kind of like finding the cure to cancer, and then not telling anyone, and watching people all around you die of cancer. The world so needs to hear and see authentic Christianity, to know Jesus, and get free of the slavery of sin. Woe to me if I remain silent and do not tell of God's glorious love.

Good question. The truth has to be spoken in love and I think that is where we err often. Remember Jesus Christ was full of grace and truth. The good news is that a miserable wretch like myself who excelled in all manner of sin found forgiveness in the eyes of a loving God who cannot tolerate sin. The good news is that He provided a way for my sins to be forgiven and for me to no longer live a life alienated from Him. God makes it quite clear that the god of this world has blinded men and they therefore do not see the need for a Savior. We share the good news in hope that perhaps God will also grant them repentance just as He has to us.

the way I understand spreading the good news is. You tell people that Jesus loves them and what he has done for you. no one can argue with your testimony. But if they are not interested in hearing the good news that is as far as you need to good do not try to make them listen it must be there choice.

Not one person (who answered this question above) knows what the "Good News" (Gospel)is, or what Jesus was talking about to his disciples.
Even the person who asked this question does not have a clue, even though he asked what it was and then told us what he thought it was.
Doesn't anyone read the Bible anymore? Do we all just listen to Bubba Preachers and then regurgitate their vomit onto this chat group.
Are you all idiots, or are you simply parrotting something you heard from a religious leader trying to build and grow his empire?
If you are reading this, and you don't think you are an idiot, then read Mark 16:15 and most importantly, discern what would have been considered the "Good news" to all the people in the world at that time compared to what they thought before Jesus came to Earth, preached what?, and then rose from the grave.
If you are not an idiot, e mail me your answer to the question: What was the Gospel (good news) Jesus mentioned in Mark 16:15
Clue: Read of all Jesus' messages and instructions and then guess what he could have meant by "His good message".
Does Heaven ring a bell? What was the view of Heaven before Jesus came to Earth, was it possible? How to get there?
What did Jesus specifically say about what you need to do for God to forgive you?
Clue, Jesus never said look at my body, my body is your quick fix ticket to Heaven. Jesus constantly asked you not look at him, but to listen to his message.
(Actually, in the original greek text "Gospel" meant good message not good news. (Good news was added in order to use Paul's mumbo jumbo way of making it easy to join his Church)

I think "spreading the good news" is just being decent to others.
It's nice to see strangers helping one another. I think it's God's work. And a non believer might think that it's just the kindness of strangers. Either way, something good happened that might inspire others to do good.
That's what we should focus on.

I think you've mostly answered your own question. There is one other idea though...and that is spreading the good news would also be loving your neighbor. It's hard sometimes and we all fail at it miserably at times. But, we keep plugging on. Sharing the love of Christ.

Nowadays in America you cannot mentioned Jesus - it means that you are forcing your religion on people. Mentioned any other name, like Muhammad, Buddha etc. not a problem, or you can even say God, but do not, mentioned Jesus.

It is never charity to confirm someone in their sin and then call it pastoral. It is charity to in love tell the truth.

How is telling others about Jesus shoving it their faces? I don't tell anyone unless it is asked. God is not a beggar.
