im buying a cairn terrier...ive decided that if i buy a boy i will name it cosmo, and if i buy a girl i will name it either sammi or dani...first of all is cosmo a good name? second, should i name the girl sammi or dani?

sami can be a girls names too, and dani is short for danielle. :)

If you like the name Cosmo, then it's a good name! It's short and with obvious sounds, so your dog will easily learn it, so all that's left is you liking it...which you do!
As far as Sammi or Dani, you might wait until you see the dog to decide which one she looks more like. They both again are nice, short names with obvious consonants and vowels so the dog will be able to recognize and learn either one well. Personally, I know several dogs named Sammy, so I'd go with Dani because it's more unusual, but you might take one look at the dog and decide she looks WAY more like a Sammi. :)

I have seem to notice that you are thinking of names already, you are excited about the dog but you need to see the face, the personality and the reaction to the call. You need to see if the dog will react or memorize the name.
I like Dani and Cosmo though^^.
I like them because the are un-common and cute.^^

With a critter, the name falls into place. So it might be best just to wait it out until you get to know your new son or daughter, then give him or her an appropriate name. I like sweet pea, but it's up to you...cosmo, maybe not, dani or sammit is ok, but can create confusion since those are boys names...

i like Sammie and Cosmo. and you know what, i live close to a pet store and ill go there probably four times a week and they were selling this dog there and it was a cairn terrier. i think the next dog i get it will be that breed

cosmo is a cool name it reminds me of some cartoons named fairyoodparents and for the girl i like sammi

If you are not sure about the name you could do like I did. I recently got a new puppy and had not chosen a name so I got to know her and her personality. Then I chose to name her Abigail. Abby for short.
