Any disease process that can be corrected with the regeneration of cells. Think if you could re-progam cells that have been damaged by disease or trauma, and get them to work the way their supposed to. It could cure alot of diseases like cancer, diabetes, spinal cord injuries, parkinson's, alzhiemer's, muscular dystrophy, kidney or liver diseases just to name a few. It would change the world as far as how we treat and cure diseases. It could end the need for medications and services that people now need, and it could improve the way people live and the lives of their caregivers. It could take away the stress on our healthcare system that is now caring for all of these individuals. It could cut health care cost. I think that is why alot of lobbist are against this research, because it would cut into their profits.

Diabetes, MS, spinal cord injuries, Parkinson's disease, liver disorders.........the list is pretty long. I think it's outrageous that one idiot (our wonderful president) is stopping this research and causing so many people- including my diabetic son- from some hope of a cure. Maybe someday- when a Democrat is in the White House- we can hope again that this bill will pass and we can get on with the research.

Well, stem cells donated from Umbilical cord blood of newborns has cured people of sickle cell anemia.
Stem cells from both the umbilical cord and the amnionic fluid have the potential (and most likely already have) to cure cancers such as lymphoma and leukemia.
adult stem cells have shown the capability to regenerate nerve cells. this can be used to help people with spinal cord injuries to walk again.

myelodysplastic syndrome, which would save other families the pain mine went through. If you really think about it, there's never a downside to curing disease, especially if the materials needed to make the cures are legally obtainable.
