This doesn't sound like any intestinal worm I've ever seen. This is NOT from the cat.

Most worms that ive seen come out of a cat are white and still quite squishy. If its black and hard it sounds dried out. Kitty may have found it on the floor and batted it around for a while. If you notice short white rice-like things in her poop, those are worms and she should get a dewormer prescribed from the vet.

It is probably not from the cat, he might have just tracked it inside. I would take a picture of it and take it and your kitty to the vet. This way you can feel better about it and the cat can get a check-up! I think that would be the best option. This is a website that has a lot of pictures of worms and their descriptions. You might take a look, but it's kind of gross. http://community.webshots.com/album/93031731AZXEzc

take kitty to the vet and get the cat dewormed just in case, most likely it was from the cat, I've never heard of cats bringing worms into the house

Cats have not "black worms" that they can get. It could have been a larvae from an insect from outside. if concerned take the worm to your vet for identification

That can;t be from the cat... its probably a baby earth worm that dried up and got stuck on the cat's paw or something.

in case you wash their dish per week, are you giving them clean water each day? cleansing once per week is nice, yet they ought to have clean water and foodstuff each day. you should have your vet examine the cat out for worms and throw the dish away because regardless of in case you make the most of warm soapy water it would not inevitably get rid of the parasite. in case your cats have worms you want to grant them a de-wormer drugs immediately. you are able to purchase de-worming drugs at maximum puppy shops and different places like Wal-mart. in effortless words use drugs truly for cats, and once you've older cats or kittens you are able to wish to get a particular kind for them. notwithstanding, a medicine right now out of your vet is said because at times those you get at a save are not threat-free on your pets. good success!

This does not sound like a parasite. Probably something from outside. Unless it's 1/4 to 1/2-inch long and looks like a giant maggot. That would be a cuterebra grub, but it doesn't sound like that's what you are seeing-those suckers are huge.
