welll I don't really. How can I let him down as nicely and less hurtful as possible? He's a realy nice guy, and likes me ALOT. help?

Be honest. Don't lie. Don't say "oh, I like this other guy", if you don't. Don't say, "Oh, I'm not into guys at this moment." Tell him the truth. It might hurt both of you, but it's better than you keeping him go on, thinking he has a chance, and you end up in the situation, but 10 times worse. And then he'll really get hurt.

However...
You could always go along with it though. Sometimes, you may love him yet.

You could say something along the lines of "You're a really great guy, but I don't feel the same way as you do, and I'm saying this because I want you to be with someone who likes you as much as you like them; but I'm not that person" or something. Make sure you add in that he's a good person and you aren't doing this to hurt him.

say that you don't like him that way, because you don't want to lose him as a friend after you went out w/ him. Tell him that your friendship is more important.

say "hey, i know you like me and stuff, and i like you too, but i think it would ruin our relationship if we went out"
