When a younger man, I always found myself seeking out the smaller, more petite women and ignored the "larger" women. Tell me ladies, was I a fool to ignore you and did I quite possibly miss my chance to meet a really terrific woman by only wanting the more petite girls? Also, I wonder if the young guys today are still as ignorant as I was?

Yes and yes. When anyone judges solely on looks or physical characteristics, they miss out on the possibilities of enriching their lives by getting to know some great people.
Looksism is rampant. Girls starve themselves just to look a certain way.
I think it will soon be a crime to be overweight. If you don't look like someone's ideal, you are pretty much relegated to the background or treated as "less than" by many in society. Larger women have feelings, too, and they can hear insults and taunts and it hurts. Maybe they are trying to improve themself and look better, but it is so discouraging to deal with all the prejudice that exists in this society towards larger women.
