i think applying any type of chemical to a child hair is unnecessary and damaging. And as far as a rinse goes....why you wanna do that, usually people get rinses to cover gray or to add color to their hair and kids are too young for color. They have plenty of time to decide on coloring their hair as the get older

The first time I dyed my hair was in about 3rd grade, it was a 24 shampoo temporary dye, just a little more red than my natural color. I thought it was really fun. Then in middle school I got some highlights and stuff. I think that after middle school there should be freedom to do whatever to your hair (to a degree...) but middle school and under should be somewhat subtle.

It really just depends on the child and the parent. If the parent feels it is an appropriate time to do so then let the kid do it. Granted, no one wantes to give a 7 year old highlights. Middle school, perhaps even jr. high would be a good age to begin with very modest, natural highlights.

My brother got his hair highlighted when he was about fourteen and I started dying my hair when i was sixteen. i think somewhere between thirteen and sixteen is okay. Definitely start with something very subtle in case you decide you don't like it and make sure the you are willing to keep it up.

Have them wait until at least middle school because that is about the time when all their friends are going to be doing all that stuff.

Depends, if they have utterly ugly hair and it would look great as soon as they start to notice it.

If they have beatiful healthy gorgous hair, leave it be and they will thank you later.
