Curious what the symptoms of a root canal are compared to symptoms of a filling? I had some slight throbbing lastnight, but not today. I am not sensitive to hot or cold that I know of. What are the symptoms of a root canal vs. a cavity filling? Any dentist or endontists out there that can advise? Thank you.

Yes, I am scared. Thank you for your help. I just had a root canal 2 months ago and because I am still paying that one off, I cannot afford another one. Besides, my appointment is 2 wks away and I am worried I will develop a deeper infection and need a root canal. It's weird, like this dull periodic slight throb. No sensitivity to hot or cold as I stated earlier. My friend who worked for an endodontist said you generally do not have throbbing unless you are ready for a root canal. That's where my fear stems from. I woke up lastnight with slight throbbing but it went away quickly. I sure hope I don't need another one.
