I need it explained to me how I measure the couch so that I can see if it will fit at an angle. I think you measure from the top of the couch to the arm (making a triangle to the arm) but the next measurement is key (which is what I don't know).

Depends on the shape of the couch. It's more about whether you can turn it as it's halfway through the doorway. Angle it to get the first arm through the door, then turn it to get the seat through, then angle it again to get the second arm through.

Measure the length of the couch with a tape measure. Then measure the length of the ends of the couch from the top of the armrest to the bottom of the couch. Then measure the width and length of your door.

Use something else like a stick to show the width of the couch and then you can move it about and try to se which angle works. Note: leave enough room or your hands too.

It would be best to measure your doorway. If it is 36ins. you can probably get it through pretty easily. If it is less you need to measure the widest place on the couch.
