Anyone can be this way, I would go see a doctor before it gets worse and destroys your life. This could all be caused by some form of depression.

My son has several issues that he is taking medications for..and has a physciatrist.....his low self-esteem is part of his illness he has...As for it being his "parents" that caused that I resent that...He was treated with love and respect all during his life...we were not a "get a baby-sitter family" we cared for our kids and went to their activities and supported them in whatever they did...
I have to remind him a lot by saying...heyyyyy hold it now....you ARE good, worthy, etc....then we laugh and we go on . He and I and his father have a very open relationship where he can really talk to us and feels no need to hide things from us
I would answer for you to seek counseling and I wish you good luck, just remember, everyone out there can not be the same, but you are good no matter what and just as good.....

Whether you came from an abusive family or not, it still comes from your parents. They just did not instill confidence or self esteem in you when you were growing up. Like a lot of families today, they both probably had to work and there wasn't much time. Maybe you should consider seeing a therapist.

Don't you get any positive feed back? If that's really you in that photo you have no reason to have low self esteem, trust me. You may be clinically depressed. You should see a doctor. You may need to be on medication. Or have a nice considerate b/f who knows how to treat women right. Like me.

It can depend on what you think makes people valuable.
If you think being beautiful gives value to people but you don't feel beautiful you won't feel confident in yourself. Or if you think being smart gives you value but you think your not as smart as others, you won't feel that great. So you need realize what is a true indicator of your value. Don't know if you've seen 'Saving Private Ryan' but if someone died for you, you would have a better understanding of your value.
You can look for years for the right way to value your self but there is only one true indicator of your value. Christ died for YOU so that you can have life to the full. And Christ had to leave heaven for a while to do that, that's giving quite a lot, because YOU ARE WORTH IT.
