I would not recommend breeding a Yorkie, with a Pitbull. The Yorkie is way to small, and the birth of the babies may take her life and the babies life. Small dogs are not meant to be bred with such large dogs. Your friend needs to get her Yorkie to the vet ASAP and have her checked. If the Yorkie is pregnant, she is in a very dangerous situation.

Yes this can happen. Keep a close eye on the Yorkie and make sure your friend really does see the dog getting fat if you want to make sure she is pregnant go see a vet. Make sure the only male dog the Yorkie has come in contact with is the pit bull so you no who the dad is. Good luck with the puppies{ Hopefully the will be some} Cali!

Yes, this is possible. It's amazing how these things occur. I hope that the Yorkie doesn't need a c-section but this does occur because the pups may be too large to pass through her pelvis. Good luck and I hope things work out. Sometimes, they will spay the dog and abort the pups. The decision is hers. Have her consult a Vet for this potentially difficult situation. Have a great week end

Yes, because my dog is about the size of a beagle, just a little taller, she's a mix breed. And the male dog was about the size of a German Shepherd but with short legs like a Dachshund, also a mix breed. Well anyways she had 6 healthy puppies, 4 males and 2 females. 3 looked liked Chow chow but with the German Shepherd colors and 1 was black/white, 2 were like black/white Labs and the runt in the bunch was like a Dachshund, with the short legs.

I have seen, with my own eyes, a Husky-Pug cross, the dogs belonged to 2 neighbors, the mother was the pug, and the mating occured through a chain link fence. She had 1 pup. Genetically, it is possible to mate any male dog to any female dog regardless of breed. But you do need to watch the yorkie closely, she's at high risk of needing a c-section to deliver if the pup(s) are too large to pass through her pelvis.

Yes they can. But it think that there might be a risk involved. i think that it is possible that the baby is so big that it can kill the small dog. But im not sure, so dont freak out. The best thing to do is to have your friend call her vet and find out all the facts. Then you will know that you have the correct answer.

Yes her dog can get pregnant from a bigger dog. She might want to go to the vet. We had a small dog that got pregnant from a big dog. WE had to take the puppies because if we hadnt they would have killed her.

Yes it can happen, but it's not healthy for the female. The puppies will get too big and the mother will have problems giving birth. Usually they have to have a c-section done.

I would suggest getting the dam to the vet and if she is pregnant, seeing what the vet thinks when they learn of the size difference between the dam and the male.

Call a vet. If she is pregnant by such a big dog, she will never be able to have the pups naturally. When it is all said and done, have her spayed and save her life!!
