Interesting answers so far and I was not aware of those connotations of the word "skeet". Where I live it has a different meaning. Where I live a "skeet" is a kid or child who is a little devilish, but mostly in a likable way. It is a young person who likes to play practical jokes, for example, but harmless ones.

Wikipedea gives a few more definitions.

In what context? "Shooting skeet" means firing a gun at a clay plate shot into the air as a target. The 'plate' is a skeet.
