you didn't mention if you just adopted the kitten. She may be still adjusting to her new home and needs more time to acclimate. Continue loving, giving her attention, playing with her and in time she should come around. You also may have a kitten that is a talker too. Some cats more talkative than others, but kittens are still learning and as they get older they should become less talkative if they are one of those breeds of cats who don't talk much. Siamese and other asian cat breeds are very talkative.

The reason the kitten is whining is because she misses her mother and she is very longly even though you play with her she feels that she wants to play with another kitten and cuddle with another kitten to snuggle up with. Have you call the vet and fine out why the kitten is whining? If you haven't than please do so maybe they can help you if any of the thing I have said to you.
Good Luck

Sometimes they whine due to ear problems and other problems. Take the kitten to the vet to have it checked. Just as a baby these things happen.. You will have to do the calling , i dont think the kitten knows the number.

Cats are vocal animals (capable of over 70 types of vocal sounds!) and she is talking. She may not think she is whining- she may be just conversing, and it sounds like whining to you.
If she is fed, healthy, cuddles, played with and content, then ignore her- you have got yourself a talky cat. If she truly sounds discontent, check her out at the vets- make sure nothing is wrong.

Also, you can try a ticking clock(worked for my 16 week old) and a stuffed animal they can snuggle up beside of. Don't make it a HUGE stuffed animal that will scare her, rather just one the size of her mother. Lots of toys do the trick as well..cat dancers, jingle balls, catnip(she's not to young for it)....all fun for your kitty. Try giving her some Wiska's Cat Milk Plus as a treat. :)
Good Luck!

Shes a baby and wants attention. Just love her, play with her and give her the attention she craves, you won't be sorry.

probably was weened away from mother's milk to soon, before 8 weeks (separation anxiety) ... once read that you can allieviate this a bit by licking your thumb and 'washing' their face with it -- this reminds them of momma's love and can make them bond to you more closely through scent marking.
