If you watch food network, they don't wash the chicken or even rinse vegetables. What about the dirt and other pesticides? And they're worried about washing away the flavor??

***I understand that it's pre-done for the show; but things such as thyme, or other bushy/leafy vegetables that they pluck out of their flower pots go straight into the dish. I've heard a couple of the chefs claim that these shouldn't be rinsed to preserve flavor.

but REAL chef's do!!
the TV chefs have assistants back stage who do all the "dirty work" for them.....

Because the staff does it before the show for them.

No one wants to watch a chef do all the boring stuff, they just want to see the food get cooked and put on a plate.

If you are talking about the TV chefs, that is all done off camera. What happens in the kitchen of a restaurant would probably make you want to eat at home.

you need to live in the real world of food instead of tv......has the word PREP ever come up in your world ...there is only so much time for tv shows the the prep work is done prior as do some people at there homes so it all dont come down to the last minute....

They probably have already rinsed the food before the show, because they don't want to waste time.

HELLO!!!! All the "chef's" on food network have preppers that do all the washing and prep work before they record the show.

it's all done before the show, they only have 30-60 min show so all the that "prep" work is done prior the show.
