some people are more sensitive or subset-able to the micro-organism that are airborne or growing in the objects around us. some people purchase products specifically that prevents allergy producing agents. Some manufacturers have become more responsible and produces products that are known for preventing the growth of bacteria producing organism. vacuum cleaner bags have improved, bed pillows are sold in various forms to service individual needs of the customer. the reduction of airborne allergens requires methods of common sense; such as closing windows and using air conditioners for those who are in high pollen areas and reducing exposure to flowers that pollinate is required.

People with allergies have an immune system that THINKS normal things like dust/pollens/mold/etc. that don't bother most people are in fact invaders and soemthing the body should be fighting so it sends out histamines to combat them. So it's actually your immune system fighting TOO HARD when it shouldn't be fighting at all.

They don't know why it does this but one thing I am certain of, it's the use of antibiotics in children that cause a lot of allergies. So only use them for major emergencies and not for every little thing, especially with young children.

If your allergies are TOO bad and you don't avoid the allergens (the only way to combat allergies is avoidance) then you can also develop asthma, especially if you get a cold and are exposed to allergens or harsh chemicals or smoke etc. which is why you should avoid smokers and bad air days etc. too.

Cave men had a physiological response of the body to dangerous elements in the environment. The response was to protect the body from the elements. Now we are more civilized and we generally do not need or use this response unless snake bites, poison etc However, our bodies sometimes do not know what to do with this response mechansism, so sometimes when the body encounters simple harmless products it reacts as though the substance was life threatening invader. Even though the substance the body encountered is not harmful the response of the body can be life threatening in some cases or mildly anoying in other cases. Simply put the protective reaction is uneeded but sometimes activated.
