1. Archie Moore. Champ for 10 yrs and had record 145 kayos
2. Bob Foster. Great champ with 56 wins and 46 by kayo
3. Michael Spinks. 1st lgt heavy to win heavyweight crown
4. Billy Conn. Dazzling Pittsburgh kid almost beat Joe Louis.
5. Jose Torres. Great fighter with 41-3 record and 29 kayos.

Note: Ezzard Charles and Gene Tunney were great lgt heavyweights but never won a title so like Smitty said, must not be included in this list.

I dont see where this logic that smitty is saying comes from that you cant include Tunney or charles because they never won a title...the question is not who was the best Light Heavyweight champions of all time..its who was the best light heavyweights. tunney only lost one fight..even after going to heavyweight...watch films of the guy, he could hit hard and moved like a lighweight. so we have to ask...if you could get a time machine and put him at this best when he was light heavy aganst the others, how would he do..i say damn good..definilty good enough to be in the top 5, and the same goes for charles

1) Archie Moore
2) Bob Foster
3) Michael Spinks
4) Gene Tunney - yes he fought the majority of his career as a light heavy, and brilliantly at this weight.
5) Ezzard Charles - Ditto to the comment about Tunney. Was so feared at this weight he never received a title shot.

Must disagree with my two brothers on this one (toughguy and Smitty). You can't penalize guys for being so good that champions ducked them.

ARCHIE MOORE
BOB FOSTER
MICHEAL SPINKS
WILLIE PASTRANO
JOSE TORRES

P. S. I NEVER RANK A FIGHTER AS BEING GREAT IF THEY NEVER HELD A TITLE IN THAT PARTICULAR. I DON'T CARE WHO THEY BEAT IN THAT DIVISION.
