(2+2)(33 + 35) = 4*68 = 4*8 = 32, 2 carry the 3, 4*6 = 24 + 3 carried = 27, answer is 272 dogs.

I would guess there are 136 dogs, since that would allow for all dogs to see two other dogs (33 see dogs from 35 and their wives). That may be balooney, but I tried....
