(2+2)(33 + 35) = 4*68 = 4*8 = 32, 2 carry the 3, 4*6 = 24 + 3 carried = 27, answer is 272 dogs.

272 - you wanna use the answer to win the competition on channel 5???
SECOND ATTEMPT - 202 ???
THIRD ATTEMPT - 144
33 + 35 = 68
33 dogs meet 2 dogs = 35 (the group of 33 meet JUST 2 dogs)
35 dogs meet 2 dogs = 37 " "
37 + 35 = 72
72 dogs bring their wives = 72 + 72 = 144

I would guess there are 136 dogs, since that would allow for all dogs to see two other dogs (33 see dogs from 35 and their wives). That may be balooney, but I tried....
