If pigs could fly we would have huge piles of crap on our cars instead of little white splotches of poop....and I doubt people would want to eat them after seeing their poo all over their vehicle. Since they can fly they would probably live in trees instead of on the ground and wouldn't it suck to be driving along the highway and have a giant pig hit your windshield? That would probably be near fatal..almost akin to hitting a flying deer or elk. Flying pigs would surely lead a much more active lifestyle then the pigs that are fattened up specifically for slaughtering for food. Thus, a flying pig would probably not be fat enough to even use for bacon. Knowing our society we would just clip their wings off and they wouldn't even be a factor in whether or not the price would go up.
Oh, and I agree with Bamma...I, too, would ride to work on my own flying pig.

Yes. The price would increase dramaticly for two reasons. First, if pigs could fly, they would need different confinement and transportation methods. Cost increases to the buildings and transport methods would be passed on to the consumer. Second, and more important, If pigs could fly, their metabolism would be seriously altered. This would require different feed rations and medical programs by the producers to get to the packing house requirements for "lean/fat" ratio.
There are other reasons, but Yes, bacon would cost more.

They would not need, to charge us freight costs
SO, in theory, prices could go down.
Their trotters would remain pink and clean ,
so the quality of brawn would go up/. YUM YUM!
mind you it occurs to me ,if pigs could fly !
They would avoid all those slaughter houses ,
So all piggy by products, would be in very short supply!
Unless of course you happened to be under the flight path.

if pigs could "fly wood"? or if pigs could "fly, would"...? I'm assuming you meant "would". Hmm.. let's ponder this wonderful question....there is no definitive answer, however, it's great to be imaginative. I think you'd see hillbillies shootin' those pigs down as fast as they could get in the air. Hillbillies love to shoot guns. I think the price of shotgun shells would go up. Not bacon.
