Warm milk acts as a neutralizer with the acids in your stomach. It soothes them. That's why if you drink a glass of warm milk (not hot) it will cleanse your system and thus give you a better night sleeping

Yes, it helps to go to sleep. Why does it? I'm not sure. I think it is a combined effect of warm liquid in your stomach and of the calcuim. If you are an adult - the benefits of milk are aculally not that apparent. It's just another food...

First off, you can NOT get salmonella from drinking warm milk. My grandmother gave me warm cow's milk all the time to help me fall asleep. To me, yes, I think it works.
Also, add some Ovaltine and you will have a great tasting hot cocoa! She used to give me that too.

If you don't like warm milk, try hot cocoa topped with whipped cream.

I have heard that warm room temp. drinks are better for your digestive system than cold liquids.
