Not me, I have rarely ever left my kids in the care of sitter let alone in a car by themselves.

I just discovered the situation is worse than I thought. This woman is on answers and posting questions about leaving her kids in the car alone but also posted a question about her daughter having a debilitating and almost constantly painful disease called Torticollis. She leaves this poor child alone in a car with her brother while she runs into a store and thinks it's ok because she has the car alarm on and the doors locked. I hope this woman is just doing this for shock value because I don't want to think about someone doing this for real.

I think people like that should have their children taken away and sterilized so they can no longer reproduce. There is no excuse for leaving your child in a car alone. There are a 100 diff. things that can happen even with the alarm on. What happens if the doors are locked and the child knocks the car out of gear and it rolls into the street? People that do stupid things that endanger their children really pi$$ me off!! I had my 1st child when I was 16 and I never even done something so stupid.

She needs something, I don't know if parenting courses are enough. anything can happen to those kids. Big city, small city, good neighborhood, or bad it doesn't matter. I know its harder to take them in with you, and there's time when it would be so nice to go into the store alone, but to put your children's lives at risk is not worth it. If she's willing to do that, then she's probably the type of mom who would leave them at home alone, just for an hour. This mom should watch the news, it takes seconds for someone to steal a car. Shame on her!

I really DON'T AGREE with that big money's comment you didn't say you condoned it. However never never never and in case someone doesn't get this NEVER leave your child(ren) in the car alone not even a second. Lots of things can happen move the car out of gear, what if it's a hot day, and if it is a baby Uhmn spitup comes first to mind. Children are not to left alone under ANY circumstances!! Thank You and have a good day/night.

This is very inappropriate behavior. If anything happened to her kids she would never forgive herself. In Toronto it is considered abandonment if the child is under 10 years old. Children should never be left alone in a car.

Leave kids in the car to go to the bar NO, Leave kids in the car to shop at Walmart NO, Leave kids in the car to pay for gas Yes I think that is ok. It's not a big deal to do it for a minute to pay for gas when you can see them but psychos take advantage of that and leave kids in the car at Walmart because they say I was only running in to buy one thing! yeah right!!

The kids need to go with her into the store and they need to be taught how to behave in public settings? Also, she probably feels safe with locking them in, but it wouldn't be difficult to imagine the scenario that one of the kids could unlock the door and wander thru the lot looking for Mommy. Worse yet, the kids could be abducted/molested, or hit by a car.
She needs to be reported.

It's irresponsible! I agree that a parent who does that needs parenting classes. You need gas but don't want to take your kids in; pay at the pump with a credit card. Out of milk; go to a drive through so you don't have to get the kids out.

if the children dont have the ability to open up the car door, and walk into the store themselves if they need to then, no thats terrible and wrong. so basically, if they are under 8 years old, then i think its bad. if they are older eight, and you run into a liquor store real quick and they want to stay in the car, i dont see a promlem with it.

It's very irresponsible, especially in the wake of all the children who have died after being left in a car. There is no excuse. She had the kids, it is her responsibility to ensure their safety when she decides to "go shopping."

There's really no excuse although I can say I've left mine while I ran in to pay for fuel. Still should take them with me I know because you never know when your going to get delayed or the shop could get held up etc... Can only protect them when they're with you.

I liked the answer that said to call in plates when you see it happening.
