My friend and I was talking trash about this other guy just for no reason and then we found out he was Italian and he when we were talking trash gave me a weird look like he was gonna do something but didnt but he knows who I am now. I usually just to be safe wont ever talk that way about Italians because you never know who is connected what is the chances that he is? Do you show them all respect just in case or no?

TV and movies focus on unusual or implausible situations and make you feel like they're commonplace. They're not.
Odds are very, very good that he has nothing to do with the Mafia; nevertheless, odds are also very, very good that you offended him with your trash talk. Just because he isn't in the Mafia doesn't mean you can keep making racist comments, you know; a guy with a 2x4 to your head is a guy with a 2x4 to your head, regardless of his affiliations (or lack thereof.)

MOST Sicilians are connected either by friends or family to the mafia. This is because in Sicily, nearly every male is in the organization in some form. In other parts of Italy, the mafia is far less common. In the United States, you're best off just avoiding the Italians altogether, especially if you like to insult them.

LOL I suppose it all depends on where you live. If I lived in any mob famed cities like New York, Chicago, Miami, Atlantic City...anywhere in New Jersey lol then yeah I would watch what I say to any Italian person just in case....but I live in a very rural area right now where the most dangerous thing you might come across is a drunk cowboy in the local bar...its a real "one horse town" so ....yeah....I'm not terribly concerned that any italian I come across is mob associated. I hate that though because I have met alot of Italians who act that way and make a point of reminding me that they are Italian and then they act all weird and give me a look as if it's a silent warning....when in reality I doubt any real mobster would openly flaunt their association like that. It's just a stereotype that people with even the tiniest bit of italian in them like to throw around to "scare" people lol right.
Please tell me the guy's name was Tony LOL that would be hilarious.
