I keep hearing people say Hitler was a Christian. What proof do you have? Here's some of mine.

"Christianity is an invention of sick brains," Adolf Hitler, 13 December 1941.
"So it's not opportune to hurl ourselves now into a struggle with the Churches. The best thing is to let Christianity die a natural death," Adolf Hitler, 14 October 1941.

9th April, 1942:
There is something very unhealthy about Christianity (p 339)

Hitler was a sick SOB who was hell bent on death and destruction. What he believed or professed he believed is irrelevant, he was EVIL, and he is the embodiment of all that is evil.

The version I had heard was that he claimed to be a Pagan - although I have heard this dismissed as being a way to undermine the Church's power and dominance. He certainly seems a power-hungry man, so that would not surprise me.

Regardless of claims, I don't know of any religion that would accept his actions as being compatible with a belief in their religious teachings - no Pagan would consider so intolerant a being to be worthy of the title Pagan, and no Chrisitian would call someone who failed so spectacularly to show Christ's love a Christian.

I would have to say, it would seem that he surely could not have truly believed in any religion that teaches of an ultimate judgement and still have done what he did.

P.S. to the person above who said that Hitler was a vegetarian, he wasn't - one of his favourite meals was baby pigeon (and unless you know some definition of vegetarian that I don't, that means eating that does not make him a vegetarian). He reduced his intake of meat in the hope of curing his chronic flatulence (I'm not joking!), not out of any concerns for animal welfare.

And what about the thousands of Germans who voted him into office and turned their backs on the suffering of the handicapped, the gypsies, the Jews, etc.? I suppose all the "real" Christians were fervent in their battle against Hitler! Read some history, sweetheart. Hitler may not have been a "real" Christian, but it was certainly a Christian culture that aided and abetted him! Was Hitler a miracle worker to have convinced thousands of people to commit those atrocities against their will?

Hitler was sick and twisted, but he wasn't a true Christian. He liked persecuting the Jews and the Christians, so NO he was not a Christian.

No he was not . . . in fact . . . I believe he was very taken by that Darwin Book . . . I forget the title

He was an evolutionist . . . a typical pantheist . . . "there is no good or bad"

I don't care what he called himself . . . he was no Christian

How else could he have been such a scumbag?

I'll tell you what sends a chill down my spine - a lot of the quotes you quoted are posted here daily by these agnostics!

I believe he was part Jewish by blood. Raised in a christian church. Back then almost everyone went to Church. It did not mean you were a born again believer. But, Hitler did not love his fellow man. And that is one big thing to look for in those who say they are Christians.

Far from! He killed God's children! He tried to wipe them off the face of earth. Christians are God's children and the Israelites are God's people. If he was a Christian, he would help protect them just like American soldiers are over in Iraq right now fighting for Israeli freedom.
