Let's say someone went fishing in the gulf yesterday and was using live bait trying to land a really big fish. Say you hooked a dolfin by mistake but your dumb exbrother inlaw gaffed it and it died. Is is against the law to have it mounted? How much do you think it would cost and maybe jut the head? What does a dolfin taste like? There must be at least a hundred pounds of meat on one. Can you grill it? This is just a hyprothetical question.

Mahi Dolphin or porpoise dolphin? Mahi dolphin, cook it up, it's delicious. Porpoise dolphin, throw it off the boat and never speak of it again. I doubt you hooked a porpoise, those things are really smart, and I have heard almost no reported stories about people hoking porpoises.

Yes...are you talking about the "fish" dolphin a.k.a Mahi-mahi and Dorado? Or are you talking about "Flipper"?

I agree. Mahi-Mahi is incredible...one of my favorite!

Flipper? What Flipper? I watched the show before.

Flipper dolphins are protected in most waters. Not illegal to catch but definitely illegal to kill and/or keep.
