high fructose corn syrup... its not digested like alot of other sugars and literlaly goes straight to your hips (the process is called metabolic shunting if youd like to learn more of it)
trans fats... its sorta like the old woman in a big car taking up 2 lanes of traffic... if your arteries were a highway... if you can avoid both of them, and find easy ways to increase your fiber better health is within reach!

The main thing you should avoid is high fructose corn syrup. This is a completely unnecessary ingredient that is added to many items for extra sweetness. Be sure you check carefully because it may be in some items that you may not expect, such as Wheat Thins and various cereals. Try to avoid anything with enriched flour because it is highly processed and gives you little to no nutritional benefit. Those are the two main things that are usually high on the ingredients list and lead to nutritional pitfalls. I have almost completely cut out flour from my diet and instead search for bread products that utilize sprouted grains instead. Sprouted grains have much more nutritional value and give you lasting energy. I believe that Food For Life is the company that makes all of their bread products from sprouted grains but other companies utilize it as well. Lastly, avoid preservatives, which are usually listed towards the end of the ingredients list but should still be avoided at all costs. Hope this helps and good luck with your healthy lifestyle!
