i have started wearing varifocal glasses, when watching TV they don't arf make my neck ache.
would it be better to have the reading bit at the top? and the long view bit at the bottom?
anyone else having probs with this type of glasses?

No, it wouldn't.

I've been wearing multi-focal lenses for 13 years not. There's actually manufactured with correct posture in mind. Don't slouch and you'll be able to watch TV or see things in the distance with no problem.

I've heard alot of people talk about the difficulties adjusting to them, especially when going down stairs, but I think you've got to give them a fair chance to get used to them. I think the reason the reading bit is at the bottom is because most people will naturally look slightly downwards when reading, anyway good luck with them!

I've worn lineless progressive bifocals for years. I like weaering them and you want the reading part downward so that when you read a book or the newspapers or reports. you eyes will natrually focus downard. If you have probs with them over time, get the regular bifocals. But that line will dirve you NUTS!

I feel sorry for those old people living in Bournmouth, all the windows there are Bifocal.

its normal at first it took me a week to get used to but you should not have to move your head just look straight ahead it does take time but they are worth it i have had mine a year now and love them
