I often feel like I gain weight from diet drinks but then they say that they do not have any calories or anything so I think it can't be so. Does anyone know about diet drinks? Can you drink as many as you want without gaining weight?

You won't get fat from them, but you might retain water, which will show up as a higher number on the scale.

Try switching to water or tea. It's better for you. Fewer chemicals.

there were a couple studies that reported that if you drink diet drinks they sort of 'trick' your body into thinking it's getting calories (from the artificial sweeteners) and because you're not actually getting the calories your body looks to get those calories somewhere else, so you eat more. But really, if you don't eat more and drink the drinks you shouldn't gain any weight. The government regulates the nutrition labels and if they say 0 calories they have to have less than 5 calories. So the only way you'd really gain weight is if you drank like 20 a day, and that could add up to 80. But probably not.

I agree with the woman above - You will not gain any weight, except for the slight possibility of some water retention. That is, you will gain weight from drinking diet sodas in the same way you would from water.

However, you should keep in mind that diet sodas are not very healthy, they are completely unnatural. While the accounts of the sweeteners being cacenogenic are true for very large quantities - it is almost impossible to increase your risk of cancer from drinking diet soda.

I usually get head-aches after drinking a small amount. Teas are all healthy and calorie free. There are many varieties each with health advantages - black, oolong, green and white teas are high in various types of phytochemicals and anti-oxidants.

Many herbal teas have actually been shown to increase your metabolism and lead to losing weight. You can even a add some cinnamon as a sweetener - very low in calories - which has been shown to increase weight loss.

Again - diet sodas are fine choices for not gaining weight - but are not healthy in general.

You only gain weight if the number of calories you are consuming exceeds the number of calories you are burning. Thus, diet drinks which have zero calories will by themselves not cause you to gain weight. However, diet drinks have been reported to increase appetite; this could be why you still end up gaining weight after all.

I went on a diet (or truly, changed my diet) and for that reason also switched from consistent soda to diet soda. I did drop some pounds, albeit it wasn't thoroughly when you think about that of the diet soda. notwithstanding, I though drink diet soda now and regardless of if I eat particularly risky at times, I actual have not received weight. i'm sure i'd have if I went again to ingesting consistent soda. sure, some persons say that you'll finally attain weight when you think about that the diet soda does not have the equivalent pleasing 'action' as beverages with sugar in them, and per chance some persons evaluate to themselves "i'm ingesting diet, so i visit eat better". notwithstanding, the equivalent ought to elect persons who sport. "I actual have in simple terms run a mile, now i do not want to concern about what I eat". in case you fairly want all that soda (truly of in simple terms water), you should come to a range interior the shape you elect the very low calorie intake with the entire chemical elements or the better standard sugar insanity :)

Yes. You can drink as many as you like as long as they show zero calories and zero fat.

You may feel you've gained weight after drinking too many because you could feel bloated.
