Is there a pdf editor out there that will allow me to easily change large amounts of text?

I've tried Adobe Acrobat Professional 8 but the text touch up tool really isn't made for the scale of editing I need to do. Is there a pdf editing tool (or a program that can convert to psd while keeping the layers and text) that will allow me to do this? I've already tried Nitro Pdf with pratically the same result as acrobat.

Maybe try opening in Illustrator, this works sometimes.
If not, copy the text out of the pdf, then erase the copy blocks in the pdf with the touch up tool. Then bring the pdf into a desktop publishing program (indesign/quark) and paste the copied text onto the document. You can now edit the live copy.
