Like shadrach,Meshach and Abednego who were thrown in the fire for not bowing down and worshiping the king.

If you were in the same position, would you go through the fire for your beliefs(or lack of)?Or would you immidiately do whatever you were demanded to do?
WHY?

There are certain things so valuable that I would go through fire to protect them. If it were a case of bowing down to a king, I'd probably bow down and then organize a resistance movement and work clandestinely to overthrow the tyrant. But it if were a case of defending such precious liberties as freedom of conscience and freedom of expression, or to protect the life of a loved one, I believe I would willingly go through fire.

We go through the fire of life everyday! physically, spiritually, mentally, and financially,it is our human nature, that we neglect our spiritual man everyday... As an excuse for not being responsible. Therefore never having a personal relationship with GOD on a day to day basis... Yet only through Gods mercy, and grace, we've overcome!!!!

Sometimes I think I would, sometimes I think how hard it would be. But if I had to stand up and die or sit down and deny Christ, I would stand. Here's why. I don't get any of my strength from myself. I am a coward and a wimp. If I have any boldness it comes from the power of God through Jesus. I only have boldness when I'm staring into the face of Christ and looking at him, and trusting Him with my life as I do each day.

There is no reason to fear death if you know Christ, because He has not only died but he arose from the dead. The bible says I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. So when going to difficult circumstances, or standing up for what is right, or whatever it may be, I will obey my Lord and humble myself before His authority. The bible says All things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to his purposes. All means all. Someone standing with a gun to your head screaming "deny Jesus or die", is part of all.

When you can get your mind off the things of the world. The lusts of the flesh, the vanity of modern technology and the filth that has piled up in this land, and when you can focus on Christ and His goodness, His love, His holyness, and even His wrath and judgement, then there is no fear. Love doesn't fear.

If you truly loved your neighbor, then it would break your heart that people are lost and if they were to die rather than you, that they would probably end up in hell. Even the ones who hate you. Why? Because Christ didn't just die for me, but Christ died for that gang member, and that athiest, and that robber, and that murderer, and that politician, and you. We have all fallen short of God's glory, but the Gift of God is His son whom he sent to die for us that by repenting of our sins and trusting in Him daily we will be justified before His judgement and we will pass from being dead in sin to being alive in His abundant Love. And He will give us assurance of the truth of Heaven and the truth of His word. He will grant us humiltiy, and faith, and love so that we can walk with Him and know that only Glory awaits on the other side of the veil of death.

I don't know the background on your stories. Sounds like a pretty screwed up god if you ask me - if the choices were worshipping that or dying, probably dying. Who wants to spend eternity with a psycopath who needs your attention all the time?

Well; since I am a Christian and do NOT believe in "hell", I would think to myself, "I don't believe in hell, so what am I doing in this fiery furnace with all the good people" ? To the contrary, knowing God is in the saving business for all mankind, ultimately, I would accept the trial set before me and since I have a RELATIONSHIP with my Creator, I would trust Him in faith, to express His love for those who worship Him in both, spirit and truth, and rescue me.

Reminds me of Hitler.

You don't worship who was the supposed king, you get thrown in the fire. (literally)

There is no fire for my beliefs. I don't waste my time worrying about it either.
