Hey there,
I think it all depends on the way the guy acts when he is around you. If he is friendly towards you and smiles when he sees you, its possible he likes you. Also, how many times do you see him in a week and how much time do you guys spend together? If you see him and spend time with him, I can guarantee that he should have felt affection for you, atleast once. Also, when was his last relationship? If he just got out of a relationship in less than 6 months, my advice is that you don't ask him out. But if not, and if all the other instances I stated above are true, I think you should go for it. I once liked this girl but I never asked her out cos I was not sure if she liked me. Then oneday it happened, she asked me out herself and it was the best relationship I ever had. We went out for 3 years and had to break up when I left her country. I think you should just let him know how you feel about him and the way he replies will guide you to your next action. your friend isnt him its just her opinion so keep it in mind but don't take it to heart
just ask him out believe me its the easiest thing to do if he says no you got your answer and you wont be hung up on it asking yourself what if cause you know what if
also i have always dreamt about the day a girl would come up to me and ask me out soooo just go for it you will get your answer by asking him not by asking us

How much do you trust your friend? I once made a mistake of taking the same exact advice your friend gave you, and she turned out wrong.
You should figure it out by yourself. It is usually the better way when you are the one there with him, and she probably isn't there 24/7.

Ask him to go somewhere with you and make it sound casual, that way he doesn't feel cornered and if he does like you, even a little he'll go. Just be like hey, so and so, you wanna go bowling on sat.? Just make it way casual unless you don't mind straight up asking him if he does.

Do you know if your friend likes him, if she does, I would bet that she is lying. If she usually tells the truth then don't risk getting rejected.

if u seriously consider her ur frend and she says he doesnt liek u, then dont. but try to make him liek u then. flaunt wat u got and pretty much leave him wanting more everytime u walk by. next thing we kno, he will like u and u can confidently ask him knowing he will say yes.
