the true meaning of chanting in the manner in which you speak is insanity.

However, there are mantras or chants that are quite musical and healing.

All life and elements are vibrational energy.

Humans are blessed with the voice of a full range of notes. We sing vibrational energy and it creates an affect.

If the intention is positive, you will get good feelings and positive results.

If you are a whack job trying to force your belief on someone through chanting, then it's just pure annoying.

Chanting, or repeating the same phrase, whether it is musical or verbal, is of pagan origin and is found in Bible only as the description of the pagan worship.
1. Kings 18:26 "...and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us. But there was no voice, nor any that answered. And they leaped upon the altar which was made."
Acts 19:34 "...all with one voice about the space of two hours cried out, Great is Diana of the Ephesians."
This practice blinds the mind and puts people in the state where their moral senses are diminished, because it affects cortex, a part of our brain responsible for many higher-order functions, including language, information processing and memory.

I'm a Christian. To me, chanting is trying to drown out your mind and thoughts with sound-pattern making. It's filler material for the inner mind. I can see why the mentally challenged might need this. Others, not so sure...

there is no meaning but there is a purpose. It gives you euphoria to chant so it is often used as a mind control technique.
