If I click on those cells and click on "format, borders", the borders do not exist there. There is nothing underlined either...

When I select "Border" there isn't a border there! If I add a "Fat" border it shows up. If I remove the "Fat" border, then this mysterious "thin" border is still there. Can it be a conditional border?

Right click - click on Format cells in the right click menu, Format menu will open go to borders, change what you want and click OK. Just make sure that you click the correct cell. If you want more than one highlight the cell to change.

Good luck
