When you do your research about islam or any other religion for that matter do you use an anti-islamic site or an unbiased one? If you use an anti-islamic site, do you ever check up on what they say or just believe what they say first hand? When you see a verse, do you bother to check up on the context and reason behind it? I know there are anti-christianity sites also but when i come across something like that i dont believe it without checking up on it. lately i've seen so many misconceptions toward islam rising up and magnified so much that they are blown out of proportion. also, when you see some muslim trying to clear something up do you listen to them with an open mind or is there no point? i would just like to know because lately i've been getting frustrated by the way people (i know, some, not all!) respond. please please no disrespectful answers. sorry for talking so much. thank you

Gazoo--
no, i didn't say you are wrong for seeing the obvious. right now, i wasn't even thinking about terrorism and was just talking about the misconceptions of islam in general. also, what you are asking me to do is out of my control. they are not my guys, i have never even seen a rally except on TV. i dont think i have the power to change anything. i dont even have the power to change the minds of people over here

Good question. I can't speak for Islam, but I do notice that, a lot of times, when people bash evolution, they use biased, unscientific sites rather than unbiased ones.

And then, of course, I see a fair share of people spouting off about Wicca with nothing but "the Bible says so" to back up their assertions. It's frustrating.

I have been on some pro-Islamic site that scare the crap out of me just for the record.

My issue with Islam is that a large part of it is out of control. There are anti-western demonstrations after Friday prayers every week. My source for this is pictures seen on middle of the road media. Also hundreds of thousands of you show up for the average Hamas rally, and lots show up for Hezbolah, Islamic Jihad and others. Again main stream pictures with no one screaming they are fake.

I don't think it is all Islam. But the only response I see from you guys is coming places like this and telling us that we are wrong for noticing. If you want to change the perception, get your guys in a line, because if you don't they will eventually go to far and the nukes will come out. And that will be on you.

I've been researching islam on my own, lately.

So far, in all honesty, my opinion hasn't changed about the religion. I have , however been in contact with one muslim girl in particular, who I have a huge fondness and respect for.

I use primarily Islamic sites like www.islamicity.com. Honest information about Islam is enough to see the errors in it!
