You apply for residence, wait, and they go there and look for a job
I know a lot of mexicans very succesful in Canada, who were able to secure a great job in their fields, it is a little bit hard at the beggining but if you come here with the right experience and the right attitude you can have a wonderful lifestyle which you can only dream about in other countries like Mexico

First, you have to apply for and receive a work visa and residency.
The information to do this is here:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/
Then once you get here, you can look for a job and for a place to live. You have to have a social insurance number in order to work, rent, get utilities or a phone or cell phone. You get this at time you are issued a visa.
Canada is different from the USA, and it is far more difficult to be here without documentation.

At the first years - up to 10 years, they can work as a security guard, cleaner, pizza delivery, shop assistant, coffe shop,etc........and after that you might get a better job.
P.S.
This is the normal procedure for almost all new immigrants...Unless, they bring a lot of money, or have a family connection.

they usually try to become legal by filing paperwork but the government hassles them about it and by the time they get it there either get under arrest for illegal immigration or there sent back to Mexico or Canada.
